Since 1980, Central Pennsylvania Friends of Jazz, Inc is dedicated to preserving, promoting and presenting JAZZ, America’s original art form.

Our membership grows through the active work of our dedicated volunteers, board members and word of mouth.

CPFJ’s involvement in the community and in educational programs contributes to the appreciation of quality jazz and inspires not only our audiences but also many area musicians who go on to successful music careers.

Our events include seven monthly concerts held on Sunday evenings in January, February, March, April, September, October and November, the annual three day Jazz Festival in June and a Summer Picnic. We feature area, regional, national and internationally renowned artists.

Artists who have performed at our events have included Mose Allison, Kenny Barron, Louie Bellson, Art Blakey, JoAnne Brackeen, Michael Brecker, Ray Brown, Cyrus Chestnut, Chick Corea, Joey DeFrancesco, Paquito D'Rivera, Jon Faddis, Stan Getz, Dexter Gordon, Slide Hampton, Roy Hargrove, Tom Harrell, Shirley Horn, Freddie Hubbard, Bobby Hutcherson, Milt Jackson, Ahmad Jamal, Branford Marsalis and Wynton Marsalis, Jack McDuff, Nicholas Payton, Marian McPartland, Joshua Redman, Max Roach, Sonny Rollins, Jimmy Smith, Clark Terry, McCoy Tyner and more!
